Originally from Doylestown PA, now based out of both New York City and Philadelphia, Lucas Ebeling is one of today’s finest young musicians. He grew up in a musical household and started playing the drums at 10 years old. At 16, he began gigging professionally in the Philadelphia area. During this time, he learned from and was mentored by Philadelphia musicians, Larry Tamanini, Mike Boone and Byron Landham. In 2016, Lucas left home to attend New York University as an Honors Scholar. At NYU he studied with jazz royalty Lenny White, Billy Drummond and Alan Broadbent.
Now at 22 years old, Lucas continues to maintain an active and versatile performance schedule, both as a bandleader and sideman. He has performed and recorded nationally and internationally in musical settings ranging from jazz festivals, jazz clubs, off-broadway musicals, rock and blues venues, radio shows, church worship, and private events.
Some notable appearances include: Blue Note NY, Cotton Club NY, Clef Club, 2020 JEN Conference, the Kimmel Center, WRTI Philadelphia, Chris’s Jazz Cafe, New York Public Library, American Museum of Natural History, The Django NY, Rue-B Jazz Club, Winnie's Jazz Bar, Candlelight Lounge, Bar Next Door, Rockwood Music Hall, Paris’ Duc Des Lombards, Dazzle Jazz, and the 2018 Telluride Jazz Festival.
